Kerala Pradesh Gandhi Darshanvedi is a Gandhian movement formed on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2017, with the three-dimensional goals of equality, social progress, and sustainable development.
The main activities of the organization are to propagate the Gandhian principles that are inspiring the world; to apply and solve social and environmental problems through Gandhiji's peaceful means of agitations, to propagate Gandhian thoughts, ideology, and various welfare activities.
Gandhiji is the embodiment of Aarsha Bharatha's virtues that have inspired millions of Indians who were in slavery for more than two centuries under British rule to attain freedom without bloodshed. The hitherto unknown innovative methodology based on the non-violence struggle for the independent revolution was orchestrated to the world. Mahatmaji made the Indian National Congress the Arena of his truth-seeking experiments.
At the end of the quarter-century-long freedom struggle he led, the flag of independent India was hoisted at midnight at Red Fort. While the nation was celebrating Independence, Mahatmaji set a new example to the society by visiting the riot-ridden border villages. Gandhiji spent the day of independence not celebrating the end of the British rule but appealing for peace among his countrymen by fasting and spinning in Calcutta on 15 August 1947. He chose the occasion to be an ambassador of peace and kept away from the authority he deserved.
The inspiration for Kerala Pradesh Gandhi Darshanvedi is to spread Mahathmaji's ideas to the next generation and to promote peace and secularism.
